Hey There, We’re BARE

BARE is UC, Berkeley’s premier arts and culture magazine. Since our debut in 2007, BARE has gained prominence on campus and national recognition in New York Times and Teen Vogue. Once primarily a fashion column, the publication has evolved into an amalgamation of social commentary, personal narrative, and multimedia design.

We are a completely student-run community, with artists, photographers, writers, and all other creatives. Each semester, we take on new contributors, create an original, themed print publication (see Issues), and present it during an exuberant launch party. Through innovation, we experiment with authentic storytelling, striking visuals, and alternative perspectives, pushing creative boundaries while staying grounded. Our mission is to amplify student work in a quality, professional-caliber setting.

We offer a range of logisitics and creative positions, so if you are interested in becoming staff, read the Join page and hear more from us on Instagram

Thanks for i38!

We are so grateful for everyone’s support on our 38th issue, Stained. BARE is thrilled to share its art, creative writing and contemporary shoots online soon.

Welcoming Spring 2026

Our teams have just recruited fresh staff members. We open positions biannually, so check in next semester to join our arts and culture magazine.

Sending huge thanks to everyone that applied, and if we didn’t have a spot just for you this time, don’t hesitate to give BARE another chance. Our teams are always changing, and we believe that creatives grow over time.

To our celebrated new contributors: Welcome to BARE.
